Thermoforming machine maker Kiefel, a part of the Brückner Group based in Siegsdorf, Germany, has acquired Czech company SWA located in Stod, in the Pilsen region. Terms were not disclosed.
SWA, which was founded by two engineers from the automotive supply industry over 20 years ago, now has around 130 employees. SWA is a partner to well-known vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, and develops and produces tools, machines and systems for the manufacture of vehicle interior, exterior and acoustic insulation parts. SWA's products are used in vehicle manufacturing locations around the world and thus are an ideal addition to the Kiefel product and technology portfolio, says the company.
The acquisition is consistent with the growth strategy of the Brückner Group and the objective to strength existing parts of the Group by expanding our product range.
By integrating SWA, Kiefel will add die cutting and pressing technologies to its technology range and will also develop competence in press laminating and pressing natural fibres, as well as in the corresponding toolmaking areas. For Kiefel, this is an important step to becoming a complete provider in the automotive interior sector.
Therefore, in addition to door linings, instrument panels, center consoles and sun visors, the range of products and services will also include boot trims, acoustic elements, roof linings, etc. in the future.
The management team will consists of the existing Managing Director Jürgen Heidel and the Director Automotive Industry at Kiefel, Andreas Frisch.
