Canadian composites materials maker Aonix Advanced Materials, which was in the news recently with Solvay Specialty Polymers having made its intention to acquire a financial interest in it, is expanding to Asia. It is establishing a solutions centre and business development headquarters in Taichung, Taiwan.
It will use the base for the development and delivery of its trademarked UltraMaterials thermoplastic composites to electronics and sporting goods processors in Taiwan and throughout Asia. Aonix says its manufacturing systems are fully integrated, “prepreg-to-parts” solutions that accelerate new product time-to-market with HPC parts and products that deliver industry-leading performance-to-price ratios.
Jerome Le Corvec, President/CEO said that the company chose Taiwan for three reasons: “Taiwan-based manufacturers dominate many consumer electronics and sporting goods product categories, the country is at the center of what may be the world’s most comprehensive materials supply chain, and Taiwan has a world class record of delivering the innovations that global brands, ODMs and OEMs need to maintain and grow their markets. We are very excited to be setting up shop in Taiwan.”
