Suzhou-based Reifenhäuser Plastic Machinery, a subsidiary of the German Reifenhäuser Group, is one of the largest importers of extrusion systems to China. CEO Ralf Pampus says, “We see great potential for further growth in Asia and especially here in China. Within the next few months we expect the import of 18 extrusion lines of the Reifenhäuser Group.” Especially in China, the firm has seen a considerable growth in sales – mainly for PET applications, barrier films, surface protection films, agricultural films and nonwovens.
With this growth in mind, the company recently appointed Eberhard Wenger to oversee the management of the sales and service business of Reifenhäuser in China.
Said Pampus, “With the new position Wenger is holding now, we strengthen our presence in China to respond to this development. We want to offer our customers an even higher consulting and service quality. In our opinion, closeness to customers, fast response times and high competence on site is absolutely necessary to attain this goal.“
The subsidiary in China was founded ten years ago. Last year, it was significantly strengthened by an expansion of activities and additional staff. Since then, more than 20 employees not only take care of the service but also of the sales in China.
Wenger’s main responsibilities in the Reifenhäuser Group’s Chinese subsidiary in Suzhou include sales, project management, technical customer consulting and aftersales service. He will be in charge of the blown film, cast film, thermoforming sheet, nonwovens, WPC, monofilament and strapping tape technologies.
Eberhard Wenger has been working for Reifenhäuser Kiefel Extrusion (formerly Kiefel Extrusion GmbH, Worms) since 2001.
