W&H sets up new subsidiary in China

German extrusion machinery company Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) has set up its own subsidiary in China: Windmoeller & Hoelscher Machinery (Taicang). Formalised in January this year, the new branch has its offices in Taicang, approximately 50 km from the centre of Shanghai.

Acting as a sales and service centre, W&H Machinery (Taicang) will take on all tasks and activities that were handled by Rieckermann previously, W&H's agency in charge of the Chinese marketplace until the end of 2013.

The Lengerich-headquartered firm also says its branch office will take care of new machinery sales as well as spare and replacement parts for the comprehensive W&H product line of machinery and equipment for flexible packaging applications, another domain being the service sector, including the installation of new equipment as well as maintenance and repair.

Other future services to be offered to Chinese customers will be die-head service and on site training of customer personnel. It says "W&H is confident that with the new business location they will be able to share in the development of the constantly growing market also in the time to come."

The official opening of W&H's new subsidiary is planned to take place on the occasion of the Chinaplas to be held in Shanghai from 23-26 April.
