After successfully passing the planning stage, the first China-based oxo derivatives plant of Oxea Advanced Derivatives has now been under construction.
Comstruction of the new plant located in Nanjing Industrial Chemical Park is expected to be completed by end of 2013.
The new state-of-the-art production site will serve the fast-growing demand in China and Asia for oxo derivatives, the key ingredients used in nearly all sectors of China’s economy, including automotive, construction, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and personal care products.
“China is the main growth engine for the Asia-Pacific region,” said Miguel Mantas, Executive Board member for Marketing and Sales. “Thanks to the favourable strategic location of our new plant we will be able to better serve our customers in the region and at the same time further strengthen Oxea’s leading global market position. Initially the Oxea Nanjing plant will produce specialty esters, phthalate-free plasticisers and other oxo derivatives for the local market. But we already have plans for new investments into the plant – along with sufficient space and resources to implement future expansions at Nanjing,” he added.
“Our specialty esters are important building blocks for the production of eco-efficient lubricants for compressors, ”said Cristóbal Ascencio, Vice President of Marketing Oxo Derivatives at Oxea, adding that the new plant will cater to the plasticised PVB film market in Asia., a material, which he said is used in safety glass laminates for automotive, architectural, and decorative glass.
