SML launches the world´s largest stretch film line
Austrian extrusion machinery maker SML, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary with an in-house exhibition in Lenzing, has introduced what it says is its most powerful and the world´s largest stretch film line. The so-called MasterCast offers a usable film width of 6 m (12-up) with a net output up to 4,500 kg/hour is said to offer line stability at high speeds and "outstanding" film properties.
It also showed at the open house its smallest stretch film line, the MiniCast with a film width of 1.5 m (3-up) and an output up to 1,050 kg/hour. Besides the two stretch film lines also the extrusion coating and laminating line FlexPack was in operation. This modular line enables converters to produce compound structures out of films, foils and papers for the flexible packaging industry.
With 270 employees and an annual turnover of EUR80 million SML has steadily grown its market share.
At the exhibition SML gave an overview of the latest innovations and developments in extrusion technology across it´s widespread product portfolio comprising cast film, sheet and extrusion coating and laminating as well as multifilament spinning lines.
