German extrusion equipment manufacturer, Gneuss, has started expansion work at its Bad Oeynhausen site to open up additional 2.400 sq m space for production (which is pegged to increase the current production areas for the extruders, filtration systems and measurement sensors by 50 %) and administration. The current expansions are expected to be completed by end of this year.
Geuss says that the expansion is hinged on its growth, from a component supplier to a supplier of complete production lines and system solutions. An important market for the company is polyester processing, where the Gneuss technology has established itself as the new standard – especially where recycled material is used. Demand for Gneuss innovative products also increased in other areas such as in polyolefin recycling, fibre and sheet manufacturing, and special materials, foam sheet, and insulation board compounding, Gneuss says.
Earlier this year, Gneuss purchased an additional 13.000 sq m of land adjacent to the existing site; a portion of this area will be used for the extensions and additions to the existing buildings. Apart from providing another 700 sq m space by adding another storey to the administration building, a further completely new building will rise on the former car park – thereby adding an additional 50% increase in the current production areas for the extruders, filtration systems and measurement sensors.
