Chemicals company Oxea has completed another siginificant expansion of irs production capacities, with 10% additional nameplate capacity for its Carboxylic Acid units in Oberhausen, Germany.
Carboxylic acids are used for manufacturing a wide variety of products, including energy-efficient lubricant esters for air conditioners and refrigerators or specialty plasticisers.
Apart from the increase, which will go on-stream anytime soon, Oxea is also building another carboxylic plant, also n Oberhausen. The Carboxylic Acid Plant 3 is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2013 and by then Oxea will have already been operating five production plants for the acids.
Miguel Mantas, Oxea’s Executive Board member and responsible for marketing and sales says, that the expansion will improve the company’s capacity to support their customers growth.
Dr. Martina Flöel, spokesperson for the Oxea Executive Board, who also oversees production and technology, says that the forthcoming significant increase of Oxea’s global carboxylic acid capacities is an indication that the company is on track in its strategy to expand into oxo derivatives and attractive growth markets.
