Eastman and Huafon Chemical to establish cellulose acetate yarn plant in China

Eastman has entered a strategic partnership with Huafon Chemical to establish a joint facility in China dedicated to producing Eastman Naia cellulose acetate filament yarns. The facility will focus on localized production and product innovation to benefit the region’s textile industry

Eastman said the partnership strengthens its capacity while enhancing the innovation and development of Naia yarns, reinforcing its commitment to making sustainable textiles more accessible. The company noted that China, as the world’s largest textile hub, offers a vital base for product and technology advancement.

The collaboration also deepens Eastman’s long-term presence in the Chinese market by creating a more agile supply chain to meet growing demand for high-quality, sustainable materials. Huafon Chemical added that the partnership combines local strengths with global resources to build a fully localised chain, from innovation and production to service, while advancing sustainability in the textile sector.
