Peter Greven increases capacity in Malaysia

Oleochemical additives producer Peter Greven, that has sites in Germany, Malaysia and the Netherlands, is starting up a new facility for metallic soaps at its site in Penang (Malaysia) in April 2015. Due to the increasing demand for high-quality metallic stearates in the Asian markets, Peter Greven started the construction of a new production plant at its site in Penang (Malaysia) in spring 2014.

The focus of the development was primarily based on the highest productivity and energy efficiency. With this new production facility, the capacity of the Penang site will be considerably increased and it will be fully operational in April 2015.

The products that will be produced in this new production facility are different qualities of metallic stearates under the brand name Palmstar. Said to be all-round talents due to their specific properties, they are used as additives and auxiliaries in various technical applications, e.g. in the plastic, rubber, paper and building industry, but also in diversified life science applications as in the pharmaceutical, food, feed and cosmetic industry. All Palmstar products are based on natural, renewable raw materials.

The family-owned company serves customers in more than 85 countries worldwide. Beside Europe and US, the company says Asia is the most important market and with its new facility it is increasing its competitiveness in the Asian markets. Peter Greven says it is also prepared to considerably enlarge its customer base and extend its market position in Asia.
