ExxonMobil's STC to showcase demos during Chinaplas

US company ExxonMobil Chemical's Shanghai Technology Centre (STC) will demonstrate product processing for consumer and industrial packaging applications during Chinaplas 2014.

The demonstrations in the STC process hall will be on five machines processing ExxonMobil Chemical’s Exceed and Enable metallocene polyethylene (mPE) resins, polypropylene resins, Vistamaxx propylene-based elastomer (PBE) and Santoprene thermoplastic vulcanisate (TPV).

“At STC, we have a great opportunity to extend our machine manufacturer collaboration beyond the nearby exhibition halls of Chinaplas,” said Robert Li, STC site and operations manager, ExxonMobil Chemical. “Visitors to STC will be able to engage with our on-site technology experts to discuss how we can add value through specific application development to improve performance, reduce total costs and help meet the growing trends for sustainable solutions.”

The following machine manufacturer demonstrations will take place at the STC from April 24-25:

Guangdong Jinming Machinery:

  • 3 layer coextrusion blown film line
  • Running demonstration: high performance PE sealant film for laminated freezer film with Exceed and Enable mPE resins which demonstrates sealing performance, excellent optical properties and an ideal balance of toughness and stiffness that provides opportunities for downgauging

Hosokawa Alpine Aktiengesellschaft:

  • Mono layer extrusion blown film line
  • Running demonstration: highly elastic film with Vistamaxx PBE which demonstrates outstanding elasticity and excellent adhesion to PP-based nonwovens for production efficiency and a low total system cost

Bosch Packaging Technology (Hangzhou):

  • Continuous motion bagger for efficient production
  • Running demonstration: High performance laminated freezer film with Exceed and Enable mPE resins which demonstrates outstanding sealing performance, excellent packaging integrity and good vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) machinability

Engel Machinery (Shanghai):

  • Injection moulding machine duo 4550/700 pico PRO
  • Running demonstration: ExxonMobil impact copolymer PP with excellent processability and impact/stiffness balance for frame injection molding demonstrates key performance required for large parts

Lantech.com LLC:

  • Simple automation stretch wrapping machine
  • Running demonstration: 5-layer coextrusion cast power pre-stretch machine wrap packaging film with Exceed and Enable mPE resins, and Vistamaxx PBE which demonstrates excellent toughness and optical properties, and an outstanding high pre-stretch ratio and high speed wrapping performance
