Songwon appoints Sun Ace as their new Africa region distributor

South Korean polymer additives manufacturer Songwon Industrial Group has appointed Sun Ace of South Africa (Pty) Ltd. based in Johannesburg, South Africa, as their new exclusive distributor for the Sub-Saharan Africa region for antioxidants, UV's (both Sabostab Hindered Amine Light Stabilisers, SongsorbUltraviolet Light Absorbers), One Pack Systems (OPS), Rubber-Chemicals, Tin Intermediates, SAP and Ink Binders.

Sun Ace is part of a network of specialty additives and chemical manufacturing facilities and has offices in the Asia Pacific, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Under the new agreement Sun Ace will handle the sales and distribution of Songwon's products in the Sub-Saharan Africa region including the West African region (Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast), Central Africa (Congo, Uganda), East African region (Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi) and South African region (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa).

Dieter Morath, Executive Vice President Global Sales and Member of the Songwon Industrial Group Executive Committee, commented that the new appointment will enable the company to increase the availability of products and knowledge for our customers in the Sub-Saharan Africa region. Meanwhile, Gary van Eyk, Managing Director Sun Ace South Africa (Pty) Ltd., said that the demand for polymers and additives is being driven by a rapidly growing population in the region and the need to provide infrastructure, communications, housing, transportation, packaging and many more applications from local suppliers.

Both company officials agreed that the transaction will provide added value products and servives to their customers in the region.
