Cannon expands elastomer solutions with Polytec EMC Engineering acquisition

Cannon Group has acquired Austria-based Polytec EMC Engineering from PUR Holding, strengthening its Cannon Afros division in the PUR elastomer market. This acquisition enhances Cannon Afros' offerings by incorporating low-pressure, multi-component machines, specifically PUR and BDO/Amin/MOCA technologies, to cover all elastomer applications. PUR Holding will retain 25% of Polytec and continue supporting its growth. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Cannon Afros is Cannon's Italian manufacturing centre for dosing systems and mixing equipment for PU, other reactive polymers and composite materials

"This acquisition aligns with our strategy to reinforce our leadership in the PU industry by expanding our elastomer machinery portfolio," said Marco Volpato, President of Cannon Group. He added that Polytec EMC's employees will transition to Cannon, with the latter maintaining its commitment to a people-first approach.

Operating as Cannon Polytec EMC, the newly acquired company will stay technically independent, while benefiting from Cannon Afros' R&D resources. The two entities will collaborate to innovate, and Polytec's customers will gain access to Cannon Afros' global technical support network.
