M&As: Maag to acquire Sikora; Nordson BKG/FIMIC tie-up for enhanced technology cooperation

Swiss machinery firm Maag Group has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sikora AG, which supplies measuring and control technologies. Maag adds the acquisition enhances its innovation capabilities in machine learning, industrial IoT, and AI-driven technologies. Terms were not disclosed.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025.
Headquartered in Bremen, Germany, Sikora supplies measuring and control systems for various applications such as cables, tubes and plastics production, ranging from non-contact measurement control to automatic sorting systems.
With this acquisition, Maag says it will achieve a new milestone in its growth strategy. Maag Group is a broadly diversified global solutions provider that offers Pump & Filtration Systems, Pelletising & Pulverising Systems, Recycling Systems and Digitalisation divisions through AMN, Automatik, Ettlinger, Gala, Maag, Reduciton, Scheer, Witte and Xantec product brands. The groupd currently employs over 1,250 people at production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, France, the US, and China. Additional sales and service centres are in France, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Thailand and Brazil.

In other news, Nordson BKG GmbH, part of Nordson Corporation’s Polymer Processing Systems (PPS) division, and a supplier of melt delivery, and pelletising solutions, and FIMIC Srl., a leading provider melt filtration technology, have announced a partnership, building on FIMIC's appointment as the exclusive agent for Nordson BKG products in Italy announced in January 2025.
This enhanced collaboration marks a significant step in developing advanced technologies for plastics processing and recycling. While specific details of the partnership remain confidential, the two companies are jointly developing groundbreaking solutions to address the evolving challenges within the plastics industry.

Nordson BKG and FIMIC say they will jointly unveil the details of their collaborative efforts at K2025, scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, in October 2025.
