Berry Global buys Clopay Plastics for US$475 mn

New York-headquartered Griffon Corporation has completed the sale of its Clopay Plastics business to Berry Global Group, a US-based global supplier of innovative non-woven, flexible, and rigid products used for consumer and industrial end markets, for US$475 million.

Clopay is a global supplier of printed breathable films as well as an innovator in the development of elastic films and laminates with product offerings uniquely designed for applications used in a number of markets, including, hygiene, healthcare, construction and industrial protective apparel. Clopay has nearly 1,500 employees with a footprint serving markets across the globe through locations in the US, Germany, Brazil, and China.

Clopay’s acquisition is expected to strengthen the position of Berry Global within the health and hygiene markets as well as broaden its presence as a global supplier to many of the leading consumer and industrial product manufacturers, which it already serves.
