US extrusion/converting machinery maker Davis-Standard has acquired Brampton Engineering of Brampton, Ontario. Canadian machinery maker Brampton Engineering provides multi-layer AeroFrost air blown and AquaFrost water quenched film systems, film winding and many other film production solutions.

At the recent NPE show in Florida, US, Brampton displayed its latest technologies: Vector single inlet air ring and SCD 4.0 die as well as the FlexWIN winder family and ITALYCS hub process monitoring technology.

“Today we are pleased to welcome Brampton Engineering with their globally recognized blown film technology to our team,” said Jim Murphy, Davis-Standard President/CEO. Murphy added “Brampton Engineering’s focus on customer support, technology and its employees align well with the values of Davis-Standard.”

Terms were not disclosed.

Last year, Davis-Standard bought Maillefer SA, a Swiss machinery maker for extrusion coating of wire and cable as well as the production of pipe and tubing.

Davis-Standard is majority owned by ONCAP, the middle-market investing unit of private equity firm Onex Corp. of Toronto, Canada.

Headquartered in Pawcatuck, Davis-Standard employs more than 1,250 workers worldwide. The company also has manufacturing and technical facilities in the US, Canada, China, Germany, Switzerland, Finland and the UK.
