M&As: Americhem acquires India’s Prescient Color; Schenck Process acquires size reduction firm RBS

US-based additive masterbatch provider Americhem Inc. has acquired Prescient Color Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sudarshan Chemical Industries Limited (SCIL). Based in Pune, India, Prescient is a producer of masterbatches in several attractive niche applications, including synthetic fibres. It employs approximately 140, including contract employees. The acquisition complements Americhem’s position in the global synthetic fibre market and expands its geographic reach in a high growth region.

Prescient is a natural fit for Americhem; this allows Americhem to service and grow with its customers around the globe, commented Matthew Hellstern, CEO, Americhem.

By combining these two companies, Americhem and Prescient will now offer an expanded solutions portfolio on a global level.

In other news, applied measuring technology provider Schenck Process has acquired Raymond Bartlett Snow (RBS), specialising in the design, manufacturing and construction of size reduction, classification and thermal processing equipment

With a company history of 130 years, RBS has successfully established thousands of references globally and set the standard in size reduction with a strong reputation for the high quality and performance of its equipment and services, says the firm.

Raymond Bartlett Snow operates locations in the US, India and Brazil, all of which will become part of the Schenck Process Group.

Envisaged closing of the acquisition is June 29, 2018. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Schenck Process manufactures solutions for weighing, feeding, conveying, screening, automation, and air filtration applications.
