Ridat supplies thermoforming machine to South Korean govt run body
UK-based thermoforming equipment specialist Ridat says it has expanded its presence in South Korea, with the supply of its vacuum forming technology to the country’s Public Procurement Service (PPS).
The government-run PPS, under the purview of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, oversees activities including domestic and foreign procurement, and handles the procurement for large-scale construction works. Ridat’s equipment will help PPS provide technical support to start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Ridat manufactured and shipped a 60040AVF vacuum forming machine with duplex heater to PPS, and won this contract against competition from major manufacturers based in Germany, Italy, Spain and the US, it adds.
The company’s automatic vacuum forming (AVF) range is designed for the consistent production of thicker materials and can be used with all common thermoforming materials between 0.5 mm and 12 mm in thickness.
It features a forming area of 1,500 mm x 1,000 mm, twin ovens with a closed loop heat control, automatic sag and bubble control, and a user-friendly PLC and HMI pad.
The model’s duplex heater system enables thick materials to be heated with minimum material stress, and it has been designed to offer the flexibility to use an optimal heating pattern appropriate to the material and the product being formed, says Ridat.
In addition, the model offers adjustable aperture and clamp frame, quick mould clamping, and servo movement of mould and clamp frame, and its high velocity turbo fans rapidly cool vacuum formed sheets, cutting production time.
According to Ridat, it has more than 60 years of experience in thermoforming equipment manufacturing and in supplying allied ancillaries, and the company has more than 2,500 installations in over 65 countries.
Dipak Sen Gupta, Director of Ridat, said: “Our cutting edge vacuum forming technology has been developed with decades of industry expertise and it has evolved to support industry requirements for efficiency, flexibility and usability, which are in demand across the world.”
Ridat provides a one stop, single source of packaging plant, including manual, semiautomatic and automatic vacuum forming machines and related ancillaries such as blister sealers, roller presses, and 3 & 5 axis routers. It offers more than 70 different products.
