Covid-19: Italy’s plastics and rubber machinery makers considered as essential
As per Decree of the Italian President of the Council of Ministers (DPCM) issued on Sunday 22 March 2020, Italian manufacturers of plastics and rubber machinery may continue their activity, since they belong to a production chain defined as necessary.
However, Italian trade Association Amaplast underlines that such factories will have to comply with the protocol listing all the measures that hinder and limit the spread of the infection inside and outside the work sites and keeping the safety and the health of people involved in the production cycle as a priority.
Moreover, companies are asked to limit production activity only to those units where activity is really essential. As a consequence, workshifts will also have to be re-scheduled, based on the needs and demands.
As for the supply of materials and components, Amaplast says it is seeing delays though these are not affecting the standard execution of production; while deliveries of machinery are going on as usual.
