Hosokawa acquires bulk materials handling company

Italian machinery makers expect negative results for 2019

Hosokawa Micron Corporation has bought Germany-based bulk materials handling company Solids Solutions Group (SSG), through Hosokawa Alpine Aktiengesellschaft, with effect from 2 January 2020. Terms were not disclosed.

SSG, which has an average turnover of EUR30 million a year, is a provider of system engineering, products and sales i.e. pneumatic conveying, feeding and dosing systems based on materials handling technology.

It has more than 40 years experience and employs currently around 100 employees at two sites in Germany and two in Spain. It says it has had more than 10,000 orders in Europe and overseas.

For this acquisition, Alpine has installed a holding company, Hosokawa solids solutions GmbH, in which the whole SSG business will be managed.

Hosokawa Micron Group, which professes forming “the mountain range of powder technology”, says it makes an effort for providing value-added technology and services to its customers by expanding powder technology and related materials handling fields.
