Rajoo Engineers ties up with Kohli Industries for extrusion coating and lamination machinery
To cater to the Indian flexible packaging industry’s growing demands for locally made extrusion coating and lamination machinery, Indian machinery maker Rajoo Engineers has teamed up with rotogravure printing and laminating machinery supplier Kohli Industries.
The companies say the requirement for providing solutions at reasonable costs was a point considered, as well as “best-in-class” extrusion and proven web solutions.
The Rajoo-Kohli co-branded Lamex series of extrusion coating and lamination (ECL) lines will be assembled at Rajoo’s facility in Rajkot, Gujarat.
In an extrusion coating and laminating machine (ECL in short) a water-based lacquer is coated on a primary substrate through the gravure process followed by a deposit of PE/PP-based molten polymer from a T-Die that is then combined with yet another substrate to form a composite laminate. This technology is rapidly replacing many solvent-based and solventless laminating applications.
Backed by its experience of having developed India’s first three-layer feedblock and 1,600 mm extrusion coating die with internal deckling (to reduce edge bead), Rajoo Engineers has joined hands with Kohli to create what it says is “a formidable alliance to build and maintain one of the most advanced and versatile extrusion coating and lamination machines.”
To reach out to converters of the flexible packaging industry, Multigraph Machinery Co. Ltd. (promoted by owners of offset machine producer Manugraph) has been appointed to promote sales of the ECL machinery.

The symphony of three companies: Rajoo-Kohli- Multigraph will demonstrate to the industry the thought-provoking leadership,” emphasised Utsav Doshi and Khushboo Chanderkant Doshi, Executive Directors of Rajoo Engineers.
