Davis-Standard acquires Maillefer to expand extrusion offerings

US-based extrusion machinery company Davis-Standard is to acquire Maillefer International Oy of Vantaa, Finland and Ecublens, Switzerland. Maillefer specialises in wire, cable, pipe and tube production technologies. Pending customary regulatory approvals, the transaction is scheduled to close in late August or early September. Terms were not disclosed.

“Today is an important day for Davis-Standard and Maillefer as we combine two strong brands into a market leading global extrusion systems and services provider to a world-class customer base,” said Jim Murphy, Davis-Standard President/CEO.

“Maillefer is a global leader that has built a strong brand based on operational excellence, technology, and providing superior customer solutions. We are excited to expand our organisation with Maillefer’s talented workforce and outstanding management team,” he added.

Lars Fagerholm, CEO of Maillefer, remarked that the businesses share common values that create a platform for cooperative growth focused on delivering best-in class systems and service to customers. Maillefer offers more than 50 technologies, has 240 employees worldwide, manufacturing and service facilities in Finland, Switzerland, China, Russia, India and Egypt.

Murphy closed with, “We are also pleased to have the continued support of ONCAP, the current majority owner of Davis-Standard. This transaction is a major milestone in expanding our global leadership in plastic extrusion technology.”
