Compounder to pump up business in China
Meanwhile Hong Kong-based compounder Ngai Hing Hong is continuing to expand its market to China, due to the unstable performance of the European and American markets, it said recently in its fiscal year report. Supported by the steady growth in China, its sales went up by 13% and its overall sales were up 33% to HK$1.68 billion.
Looking ahead, Ngai Hing Hong says the global market will remain volatile and believes that corporate financing will become a key concern for exporters and manufacturers and present new challenges for upstream plastics companies. The company also said it would continue expanding its sales offices in China, and said its new and larger compounding facility in Hong Kong, which opened this year, was helping it pick up business in mainland China and become more efficient. About two-thirds of the company's revenues come from its plastics trading business, with the rest from compounding colourants and engineering plastics.
