Thai's push for better technology
C ompatriot machine maker Wittmann Battenfeld, meanwhile, expects to sell 100 units in Asia by 2013. "From 2008 until now we have sold 40 injection moulding machines. This is encouraging and we are expecting further sales," said Jimmy Teo, Director of the Singapore office.
The Austrian/German supplier was displaying its EcoPower 180 machine, which had been sold to Thai household goods maker Vatchara Packing that counts Unilever, Lion and Avon as its customers, a new customer for the company. The HM150 hydraulic on display had also been sold to a Thai company, Thai Merry, which makes disposable lighters and already has 30 Wittmann Battenfeld machines in its stable, according to Teo.
