DuPont to invest in Dutch facility for speciality copolymers
D
uPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers will increase capacity for its speciality copolymers at its site in Dordrecht, Netherlands. This is to meet the strong demand for its adhesive and modifier resins as well as lidding sealants used in packaging, construction and industrial markets.The expansion enhances the US company's global network of manufacturing capabilities, which includes sites in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.
These speciality copolymers will be available from Dordrecht starting July 2011. According to DuPont, the investment enables improved supply reliability to all regions and another platform for new products and technology development.
The company says that the additional capacity will allow it to respond to rapidly growing demand worldwide, particularly in Central Europe and Asia as well as the need for more sustainable solutions. Fusabond modifier resins enable the reuse of mixed plastic waste streams while Bynel adhesives plays a role in reducing the amount of material in multi-layer packaging structures and Appeel lidding sealands add sustainability benefits for packaging convenience, says DuPont.
