Clariant opens Chinese pigment plant
S wiss chemicals firm Clariant has inaugurated its joint venture pigment plant, with Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry, in Dagang to support growing regional markets. The pigment preparations production plant has an investment of RMB120 million.
Sited alongside its existing powder pigment plant in Hangzhou, the facility will produce pigment preparations in liquid and solid form for applications in the coating, plastics and printing industries and for consumer products and industrial special applications. It includes 16 production lines and warehouse, laboratories and office space, occupying an area of 13,000 sq m.
The new plant will be adding to Clariant's 12 pigment plants and 11 preparation plants across Europe, Asia and America. Clariant has invested CHF200 million in China during the past five years.
