Pellet screening for small spots
Japanese auxiliary equipment maker Kubota has introduced a Super Platon pellet screening system said to be able to detect black spots or off-colour contaminants as small as a tenth of a millimeter in a stream of resin pellets, using four high-resolution sensor cameras.
It can be installed in-line or off-line after the pelletiser and vibratory size screener to detect and remove pellets that are stained, spotted or discoloured. Furthermore, the light source is from LEDs arranged in a dome configuration, thus allowing for the screening of transparent materials.
