Arkema to increase PVDF capacity in China
Due to the increasing demand for PVDF in China, French company Arkema will expand output of its Kynar PVDF by 50%. The facility will be completed this March.
The Changshu plant was originally intended to meet demand in the industrial paint market in Asia but now Arkema says it will add on capacity to help meet requirements for PVDF resins from emerging applications. It will cater to the strong growth in polymer membranes for drinking water filtration, electrodes for lithium ion batteries and protective films for the backsheet of photovoltaic panels.
Arkema has other Kynar facilities in France and the US.
