Cardia bags deal in China and sells to Europe
Australian bioplastics maker Cardia Bioplastics has secured a contract from China to supply waste bags made from its Biohybrid products. In other news, Cardia's material is being used by Polyden Folien to produce film for the European packaging industry.
The Chinese contract is worth A$260,000 for a six-month supply of 10 million Cardia kitchen waste bags for the Nanjing Government that will deliver them to 60,000 households in a defined radius in Nanjing. If the contract is extended beyond the initial six-month trial, it could grow to cover a larger radius of householders where the population in Nanjing is currently around 7 million people.
Meanwhile, Polyden Folien has launched its new range of flexible packaging films made with Biohybrid technology.
