PTI becomes part of Italian PET machine maker Sipa
Italy-based PET packaging machinery specialist Sipa and Plastic Technologies Inc. (PTI), a US-based PET packaging R&D firm have tied up, with PTI now becoming part of the Sipa group. The companies add that the strategic partnership will help both companies “to increase their visibility and create new business opportunities”. Terms were not disclosed.
“Joining forces with Sipa makes perfect sense for PTI. We bring extensive knowledge in package development and material expertise to their capabilities’ portfolio,” said Thierry Fabozzi, PTI CEO. “This strong collaboration will also give PTI access to SIPA’s latest equipment and enable us to provide even better turnkey solutions for our brand-owner customers.”
“We are very pleased to see PTI become a part of the Sipa group. In addition to the technical synergies, we also see geographic advantages. PTI’s well-established footprint in the US will allow Sipa to further reinforce its visibility and success for its equipment technology in North America. Sipa’s relationships elsewhere in the world will help introduce PTI as a leader in package development, giving the possibility to Sipa to provide a very comprehensive offering to the market” said Sipa Chairman Dr. Gianfranco Zoppas.
With 30 years of experience in PET containers solutions, Sipa says it offers considerable expertise in a wide variety of bottle manufacturing and filling technologies, from preforms to finished products, for the food and beverage, chemical products, cosmetics, detergents and pharmaceutical sectors. It is headquartered in Italy and operates 17 sales branches, four manufacturing facilities (two sites in Italy, one in Romania and one in China) and 28 service centres.
Sipa also offers injection mould refurbishing and conversion services, with eight refurbishment centres in Italy, China, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa and two in the US (Georgia and California).
PTI, meanwhile, is a PET packaging solutions provider with offices and labs in the US, Switzerland and India. The company adds that it works with brand owners on packaging solutions in line with the regulatory, environmental, economic and aesthetic standards.
